In this art experience we will be incorporating essential oils as a way to enhance your self-care while utilizing art.

The combination of art and essential oils can offer transformative support for ones emotional health.

The art created in this experience is to gain insight of what is happening in our inner world. Next, you are prompted to create what you project to the outer world.  Art gives you a visual of your thoughts and feelings. There actually may be a conflict from your inner and outer worlds. This is a way to see if there is a congruency.

Aromatherapy

“Aromatherapy is an extremely powerful way to impact our emotional wellbeing. Our nasal passages are a direct pathway to the limbic system of the brain. This area is where the amygdala processes the body’s emotional responses. By simply inhaling the aromatic compounds of an essential oil is an effective way to calm the nervous system. It will reduce anxious feelings or uplifting your mood.” Kayla Helenske. If you would like to watch the interview click here.

Smells trigger emotions

In Kayla’s research she has found a close connection between smells and emotions.  In everyday life scents trigger memories. The memories impact our moods and emotions.

Boost your mood with oils

Lavender, clary, sage, lemon and lime are an effective way to decrease sad and anxious feelings. The oils act on serotonin and dopamine neurotransmitters helping to balance the brain chemistry.

What is holding you back from sharing your whole-self.
